From Friday to Saturday, 3,139 new infections were reported in Austria. That’s another increase in the numbers. Yesterday, there were 2,702.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 574,755 positive test results in Austria. As of today, 9,662 people across Austria have died as a result of the Corona virus and 532,539 have recovered.
Currently, 2,359 people are in hospital care due to the corona virus, 586 of whom are in intensive care units.
Two million mark in corona vaccinations broken
But there is also positive news: A new vaccination record in the fight against the coronavirus has been reported by the Ministry of Health. On Friday, 77,736 vaccinations were administered in Austria, clearly surpassing the previous daily high of Thursday, when the mark of 60,000 was exceeded for the first time. This broke the sound barrier of two million Corona vaccinations in total. As of Saturday, there were approximately 2.025 million registered Corona vaccinations.
